The Spirit of Mischief

A "Hobgoblin" is traditionally known as a mischievous imp that is said to be found dwelling within people's homes. Fond of practical jokes, their antics can be remarkably thrilling and can escalate to the outright frightening.

This folklore perfectly captured the spirit of what hot sauce is to many of us fiery fanatics, and we knew it would be the perfect symbol for our creation.

With a little creative wordplay, the shorthand nickname of the iconic Habanero ("Hab") was substituted into the name of the mythical creature, and so began Habgoblin Hot Sauce

Savor the Flavor

Peppers are notoriously associated with the malevolent and the cruel, but their frightening reputations hide an array of wildly exciting flavors and sensations.

There's been a rising interest in hot sauce as people across the country are discovering the novelty of spicing up their dishes and transforming mealtime into an exhilarating culinary experience.

Habgoblin Hot Sauce was crafted with this in mind, not only to bring the thrill of peppers to your meals but to also reintroduce familiar and exotic flavors in an obsessively delicious way.

Bring home a bottle of Habgoblin, and unleash the spirit of mischief!

How it all started...

Habgoblin Hot Sauce is a business based in the Pacific Northwest that got its start in the outskirts of Portland, Oregon. The long awaited brain child of spicy food addict, Joel Hasse, finally took form during his time working as an animator for Laika's stop motion animated features, Kubo and the Two Strings, and Missing Link (2019).

After exclusively offering his home-grown creations to the talented artists of Portland's stop-motion studio, his biggest challenge was keeping up with the demand that soon followed! Not only did his sauces bring-the-heat, they also were packing explosive flavor that complimented favorite regional dishes and made them irresistible to fiery food fanatics everywhere.

Since that time the company has grown, attracting the attention of a long-time friend and restaurant magnate, Edson Clements who soon became a partner helping Habgoblin continue to flourish. We have since moved our production headquarters to Eugene, Oregon where we are proud to continue our mission as a local product of the Pacific Northwest!
